A continuous and intimately warm embrace: this is the feeling that surrounds Villa Bitterlin.
The organic denotes life, movement and harmony. These are the constant emotions when one prances through the rounded forms of Villa Bitterlin. Full of stained glass details that participate in transmitting vitality and changing the visual rhythm: this house is a place to relax, in perfect communion with the environment.
Rays of colored light come inside to play in open spaces, a place where you can rest with the sensation of being floating over the sea, in a universe where everything seems to emerge from it’s surrounding, even yourself.
The ample windows, with a clear view of the Pacific Ocean, are accessible through almost each corner of the house and make you feel like it’s possible to go through them and touch the sea by just stretching your arms. A walk around the house is like finding oneself inside a small universe, with textures and forms in complete detail, a short step away from the immensity of the sea.
This organic construction was build by Architect Jean-Loup Bitterlin in 1970, and since then it has caught the attention of the Media. By the year 1972, the LA Times published front cover article that was illustrated by 4 pages of numerous photographs.
Experiment a space that built by Architect Bitterlin while thinking about his own intimacy, in the Villa in which he actually lived for several years. A few days by the sea in Villa Bitterlin will take you inside a world in which you fit perfectly.
The Villa’s entry level has a queen bedded room to the right with a full bath featuring a whirlpool with an ocean view, to the left is a half bath with stained glass windows and a mosaic counter with handmade ceramic sink. A full kitchen is adjacent with a zebrawood counter that curves with the space. A two storm height dining room opens to the living room overlooking the ocean view. The living room is furnished with 6 suede bean bags to comfortably seat you. Between the living room and dining space is a cozy fire pit.
The staircase to the upstairs open sleeping areas curls around the double chimney central structure; the mezzanine space has a king round bed and a sitting area to enjoy the upstairs fireplace and the ocean view.
