I recently spent two days at the hotel and was surprised to see the hotel actively engaged in environmental practices. There was literature in the room indicating that the rooms were what were called "EcoRooms". Apparently the room had been retrofitted with energy efficient lighting, water efficient showerheads and sinks, they use soap dispensers to reduce waste, use non-toxic cleaning supplies and much more. They even had a recycling receptacle in the room. What a shock! Rarely do you see things of this sort in the US, but to see it in Mexico really pays tribute to the hotel's environmental awareness. Kudos to them. Personally, any hotel that is that active in helping environment deserves my business and that of anyone I know. You can bet that I'll be staying at the Posada El Rey Sol every visit to Ensenada. Cole Wilcox
